Today, I attended the NYS Joint Budget Hearing on Taxes. I arrived late but just in time to hear the same ole, same ole from Mr. Ron Deutsch of the New Yorkers for Fiscal Fairness. I’ve been involved with Deutsch, or one of his projects since 2001, so my head is as filled with his rhetoric as it’s going to get so I took the opportunity to charge as I browsed the speaker’s list.
I listened to the next speaker and puzzled at his tale…while this is a tax meeting, this speaker, Paul Creasy of the Altadis USA Pipe Council, was talking about tobacco and why pipe tobacco can’t be used for “roll your own” tobaccos…the cut is too long and it smolders rather than burns. (See how much the Occupiers would have learned if they hijacked the speaker for more than five minutes?)
