In the Spring of 2009, I listened to a report from a friend who had attended a super secret meeting at Crisan’s where she had been invited to meet the then candidate for Treasurer, Kathy Sheehan. I listened as she joked about Ms. Sheehan being anything but a fan of this blog and about how Sheehan’s orginal intent was to run for Mayor of Albany…that’s right…Mayor. I am told that she was quickly convinced that the position of Treasurer would be a better “jumping off” point for a new politician…a no brainer since she was meeting with supporters of two of the candidates running for Mayor against Big Jerry Jennings.
Ya see, there was a target on the Mayor’s Treasurer, with good reason, but the lefties didn’t have anyone to replace Ms. Barnette. It was decided, I’m told, that Ms. Sheehan would run for Treasurer…get “inside” the mysterious financials and assumed atrocities of the current administration and then, four years from that time, she would run for Mayor. Talk about having a fox in your hen house!
