The committee charged with analyzing problems and developing solutions for the problems that plagued the 2012 Iowa Caucus will soon provide their initial reports. The first report will be 10 am on April 26 at DMACC in Ankeny.

The 2012 Iowa Caucus was the closest in history. Mitt Romney was declared the winner on caucus night, by a margin of eight votes. Following a two-week certification process, Rick Santorum was eventually proclaimed the winner. The votes from eight precincts were unable to be certified. Four of those were in Lee County. Matt Strawn resigned from his position as RPI Chairman shortly after the certification was announced. He received heavy criticism for showing a reluctance to proclaim Rick Santorum the winner.
